We’re very pleased to have been commissioned by Lifelink in Glasgow to work on a new film and photography project with local people in the North East of Glasgow who have lost someone to suicide.

We know this will be a challenging and thought-provoking project and we are ready to really support people through an engaging creative process. it’s going to be 12 weeks long project (8 weeks of workshops) and we’re really looking to making an intelligent and heartfelt film or series of films, as well as a series of photographs with this group.

The direction of the work that we do will be led by the group participants who will share their own personal stories and feelings about the person they lost to suicide.

We see this as an opportunity to be more creative and innovative in terms of our collaborative process and hope that by doing so, the whole process will be more interactive for the participants and for us as film-makers.

We also hope that the message that the film sends out will be more poignant and will help viewers deal better with their grief or encourage them to get the support that they need.

If you know of anyone in the North of Glasgow or the North East of Glasgow who might benefit from getting involved in this project or needs needs support because they have been bereaved by suicide, please contact: www.lifelink.org.uk or phone 0141 552 4434.

about this project

November 2012

It took us a long time to make this film but I really think it is worth it! We want to say a big “Thank You’ to the young people whom we interviewed and recorded. Without them, this film would never have been made. Also a big Thanks You to the young actors who took part in this film – again we couldn’t have done it without you!

It in this film we talk directly about the effects that sexual abuse, in all it’s forms, has on young people, about how they react to what is happening or has happened to them and how they get help for themselves. Please make as many people as you know aware of this film so that as many young people as possible can get help, if they need to.

Thanks to Graeme Henderson, 2nd camera operator for the generous donation of his time to make this film. If you want to find out more information about Safe Space and the fantastic work they do in Dunfermline, you can by going to their website: www.safe-space.co.uk. If you know of anyone who would benefit directly from watching this film, please recommend it to them! If you are an organisation that works with young people who have or might have been sexually abused and you think that your clients could benefit from watching this film, even though Safe Space, is not based in your area, please get in touch with Safe Space to see what can be arranged. We want as many young people to see this film as possible.

April 2011

we are are currently working with Safe Space (an organisation that works with survivors of childhood sexual abuse) to create a promotional film that can be used to both inform the local community of the fantastic work that Safe Space does with both young people and adults, and also as a tool to attract funders.

we are interviewing staff, local partners, young people who are currently using the service as well as adult suvivors of child sexual abuse and from the footage we’ve edited so far, this is going to be a very powerful and emotional film. we’ll keep you updated of the film’s progress so come back and check out how it’s coming along!

A big “thank you!” goes out to ALEX and THE REILLY FAMILY for engaging with us and allowing us to film their happy and chaotic lives on a sunday afternoon.

This is our first attempt at making my own short film this year. I wanted to do something short and sweet and I enjoyed both the filming and the editing of it. Filmed on a canon 7d, canon 60d, a 70 – 200mm f2.8 IS, 17 – 40mm and a 50mm f1.4 in natural light. Thanks to Graeme Henderson for helping out with the second camera and for throwing in his ideas!
