Recently, I had the real pleasure of working with SHARE (https://www.share.org.uk) photographing events at their 3-day annual Conference in Peebles, which was a hugely successful, bustling and lively event. It was a great opportunity to meet a lot of different tenants from a wide variety of housing associations throughout Scotland, for tenants to network, learn together and learn from each other, as well as getting some essential time off to relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Peebles. As well as a whole series of really interesting workshops, there was a tour of the distillery, a gin tasting session, archery, breakout sessions, lots of tea, coffee, cakes and chat, delicious dinners, live bands, dancing, a magician as well as therapeutic massage and activities for the children that came along too.
People were incredibly friendly and I really enjoyed being able to both engage directly with folk and also to step back and quietly observe folk. I am always impressed when I see ordinary people, driving housing associations forward, not because they get paid for it, but because it is a passion and they want to achieve the best for the communities they live in. It’s one of the rare opportunities I get to celebrate the work of such a great organisation like SHARE and to meet so many lovely people all at once! Roll on next year’s Conference!

Here’s a lovely testimonial from one one of the conference delegates:
“What wonderful photos thirteensquared took at the SHARE conference at Peebles. The photos were exceptional and so was her approach. She blended in with the delegates and there was no intrusion whatsoever, that really is a rare skill.” Regards Geraldine Baird MBE
