Last week we were up filming and taking photographs in the lovely remote Ardeonaig Hotel, near Killin. The hotel is situation on the southern shore of Loch Tay, amongst some of the most beautiful scenery in Europe; Ardeonaig is a very special hotel in a spectacular location.
We are making a promotional film that captures not only the spectacular scenery, but also the wonderful accommodation on offer, ranging from large luxurious loch view rooms to contemporary sheilings or cottages, that further create a wonderful sense of seclusion.
The food on offer is classically Scottish, of a very high standard and beautifully presented. We had the pleasure of both dining in the elegant and spacious dining area as well as filming the food as it was carefully and lovingly prepared. We were particularly impressed by the organic orchard and herb garden, especially when we saw the chefs picking herbs in the garden less than an hour before they arrived, beautifully presented, on our plates.
We are now preparing the footage for the series of 8 short promotional films that we are going to make. We shot a LOT of timelapse footage, getting up at 4.30am each morning to capture the wonderful sunrises both down on the Loch Tay shore and as the sun rose in the east behind the hotel.
We fell in love with the mountain directly facing the hotel as the clouds danced around them and the sunshine dipped in and away and back again, which was just breathtaking to watch.
Thanks to the lovely staff at the hotel who were friendly and full of information about the local area and the history of the hotel, dating back to the 16th century.
